This historical ale dates to the earliest years of America’s settlement when spruce was utilized as a bitter flavor in brews along with providing a good source of vitamin C during the winter months. Rich molasses and roasted barley give depth of flavor and yield a full body. A slight spruce aroma greets you with the first sip and leaves you with a subtle aftertaste.
Brewed in times of grain shortages, Squash Ale is brewed with locally grown butternut squash from Little Miami Farms, barley, brown sugar, and true Ceylon cinnamon. Surprisingly mild in flavor, this beer is not your modern Pumpkin Beer.
